I'm looking for a watch to fit all of my hiking/exploring needs. I know there are watches out there fore +$250 that have EVERYTHING. However, HR, thermometer, and compass are really the only three functions I am ever going to need. Is there a watch in the $50-$150 range that can accomplish all of this?

How to become a climbing guide?
I'm finishing up my freshman year in college, have extremely limited climbing experience but I know that i want to pursue my dreams of working with the outdoors(preferably climbing) and see where it leads me in life. I am not coming back to the school I am at next year to chase this dream but honestly I am lost and do not know what to do. I'm willing to go balls to the wall, whatever you think will help me the most. It doesnt matter if its a college or whatever just something.

Lizard King is right, you will need to be AMGA certified (a long and expensive process). You will need to have significant skill and experience (they expect you to have this before you begin the process). Go to their website for all the details. In the meantime, continue with college. Guiding is not something that can happen overnight, so you will need to have a good education and a job for the several years it will take you to gain the necessary experience. Also consider that you will need to have some money for traveling and doing climbs around the country to prepare (a requirement), so you will need some type of income. I know several guides that have graduate degrees and did multiple jobs while preparing and going through the cert process.
