Buying a Professional Grade Clarinet?
I've been playing (nonprofessionally) for about 20 years, using my 45-year-old student grade wood clarinet.
I'm thinking of rewarding myself with a new professional quality clarinet. Does anyone have recommendations on make and model? Also, what about used versus brand new?
Yamaha and Selmer make very good professional lines of clarinet. If you visit their websites then you can basically choose the level of model by the amount you have to spend. The more you spend the better the instrument.

For those who use professional grade HD camcorders: Which brand is the best and why?
I'm talking those within the price range of higher than $2,000
See what is available... Sony, Canon, Panasonic, JVC... I prefer Sony. I have used high end Canons and Panasonics - they are good, too.

I like the way Sony camcorders "feel". The manual zoom and focus controls have the right "drag" for good tactile feedback - and the rings don't easily slip/slide (and ruin the shot). The electronics used to interpret the color saturation from the imaging chips just seems more "real". The camcorders I use have worked quite a bit - and they continue to be robust. Over the last 5 years, I have used a head cleaning tape only once (because the camcorder told me to).
The Canon manual zoom and focus rings are similar to the Sonys. The Panasonic manual zoom and focus rings are lighter than either the Sonys or Canons. Some people like them. I like the large Panny LCD panels. The Canon LCD panels are small - Sonys are in between. I have no direct experience with any of the pro JVCs, but like the design of the GY-HM100.
Camcorders I have used:
Sony HVR-V1, HVR-Z1, HVR-Z5, HDR-FX1, Sony HDR-HC1
Canon GL2, XL2, XHA1, HF S100.
Panasonic AG-DVX100, AG-HVX200.

Where did all the really excellent baseball regulars go?
There use to be some really outstanding people in this section that knew baseball. Man, it's hardly worth coming in here anymore. What ever happened to guys like Craig S, Gorgie Porgie, Mick 7, Frizzer? I left for about a year ago but came back with a new account. Did they all leave or have I just missed seeing them? Anyone know?

Who knows dude! People come and go on this site all the time. They were all really good. I remember Georgie Porgie and his love of the Tigers and how much he hated the Yankees. Pretty funny really! Of them all Craig S and Mick 7 were the really good ones. Both answered questions from the heart if you know what I mean. Too bad they left.
With few exceptions, most of what is on the baseball section is "crap"! That's why I basically stay away.

Do you know an excellent All-Inclusive hotel in Greece?
I am looking at a last minute cheap holiday to a Greek Island. My Husband wants to try All-Inclusive, but being a foodie I am afraid of bad buffets with bad food.
Has anyone been to a hotel on any greek island that had a really good All-Inclusive option, i.e. really good food and a good selection of drinks? I'd love to hear from anyone!

How come some people who aren't even poor get a lot of Financial Aid money for School?
Like how do they do it? Does it mean their parents lie on tax papers.
it depends on how many other kids they have in college. i know some whos parents make over 100k a year but they have 3 kids in college so they get more financial aid. also just because people seem like they have moeny doesnt mean they actually do. people love putting on a show for other people around them. you dont know their finances and its pretty hard to just lie on your taxed.

So Evangelicals, why do you need to look forward to the world ending in a catastrophe?
I mean there is not much sense in it really, do you think a loving God would send all unbelievers to hell for an ETERNITY? I mean in my opinion that is insane... please prove me wrong. Take the book of revelation for example... it has a lot of seriously funny stuff in there (locusts with crowns? bottomless pit? etc). At the time when this book was written, nobody new the effects of magic mushrooms on the brain (it is an hallucinogen) or the effects of the lack of oxygen at great heights or even the effects that gas could have on your brain in caves. This book of revelation seems almost impossible but if you have a better explanation please forward it to me.
