Where to find paracord bracelet material online?
I'm making my boyfriend a paracord bracelet for Christmas but I'm having a lot of trouble finding the cord and a side release buckle for it. I've checked all my local stores that would be likely to have it. None could help me. Could anyone tell me where I could find either of these things online for a reasonable price? If so that would be much appreciated! Thank you!!! (:

Everywhere else is pretty expensive, and you have to buy so much. What about substituting another kind of cord from one of the big craft stores? Or look at a big box hardware store in their rope section.

Someone said my house is like a zoo? What do you think?
Okay so my family are real suckers for pets.
We have 11 cats (all self rescued from abusers NOT from a shelter, except one).
We also have 7 rats, and 5 dogs.. 2 rescued dogs.
One was unwanted for being 'too small' and the other was unwanted for diet problems.
People think thats a lot of animals.. and considering we always take in animals and rehome them, but we do it out of kindness.
Our old labrador had been locked in a shed for her whole life, I taught her to climb stairs and be a normal dog.. I wanted to keep her but the vet bills were too much.
People think we should register as a rescue and take donations for the animals, but I don't know?
What do you think about my family?

Also, I don't like the thought of taking money from others, we manage on our own and would prefere peoples money to go to places like the Blue Cross etc.
Since I've never seen a zoo with cats and dogs, I would have to say your house IS NOT like a zoo. An animal shelter maybe, but not a zoo. 11 cats?...hmmm...

Is imitating jump rope work ( Boxing style) the same as actually using a jump rope?
like doing jump ropes with out the jump robe ( jumping, imitating hands as if had a jump rope) the have the same effect?
No it is not the same, part of the exercise is getting your hands, eyes and feet coordinated.
Plus the rope actually works the muscles in your arms and shoulders.

| | Rope $12.78 The debut Black Tape album, especially in light of the band's later efforts, makes for an interesting listen in retrospect. On the one hand, much of what would make Black Tape so distinct is already in place: vocalist Oscar Herrera's passionate interpretation of Rosenthal's romantically obsessed lyrics, Rosenthal's own moody, haunting contributions on keyboards, atmospheric instrumental pieces, and more. "Hide in Yourself," later featured on the A Teardrop Left Behind compilation, is an especially good example. On the other hand, The Rope is fairly rough and ready in comparison to something like Ashes in the Brittle Air or Remnants of a Deeper Purity, including some of the most explicitly rock-oriented material the group ever recorded. In part this is due to multi-instrumentalist Allan Kraut, who contributes drums, guitar, and bass, or some combination of them, on about half the tracks, along with writing three of the songs with Rosenthal. Also, the sheer depth of later Black Tape music makes the comparatively less full arrangements here sound more like demos. By no means is this criticism, it's just that those expecting the Black Tape aesthetic to have been fully formed from the start will be initially surprised with The Rope, but will find its charms to be plentiful in the end. Certainly one inspired constant of the band -- the use of numerous guest performers on any particular album -- pays dividends here. Two violinists, Candy Sherlock and Lara Radford, contribute haunting airs to a number of songs, while clarinet and cello both appear on the lovely instrumental "Seven Days Till Sunrise." It's blatantly honest, often empathetic and frequently beautiful. The album never dips from its high level of songwriting skill, energy, and passion, though some songs are more touching and standout than others. Enough Rope is a great mix of uptempo highway driving songs and sentimental, nostalgic ballads. "Up from the Hill" is a rollicking Southern rocker and "Bridle on a Bull" is country-tinged blues at its finest with distorted slide guitar delivering a howling solo: "If your mule don't want to plow/Talk to him with a two-by-four/And if he still don't want to plow/Talk to him just a little bit more/And if he just don't want to listen/Haul him off to the dog food store." The best aspect about Enough Rope is the stories Knight tells. The most touching song on the album is the medium-tempo "Old Man": "Don't wanna die till I've lived too long/They'll sell this place, whenever I'm gone/I miss my sweetheart so, and the way she used to smile/I miss them kids of mine, running wild/When the daylight fades in late afternoon/About all I know is it was gone too soon." "William's Son" is a tale of a maverick youth who grew up tough after escaping from his abusive father: "I'm kinda glad my dad got blown away/I know he grew up hard and he grew up mean/But me and my sister was not to blame." The album comes to a close with the perfect song: "Enough Rope" is a heartland rock ballad, reminiscent of a John Mellencamp tune (Knight's voice is a little grittier, but similar). It's slow, reflective, and simple, with acoustic guitar and violin -- a tribute to hard-working people who never got to achieve their biggest dreams. "Well, I work for the city, in the town where I grew up/Some days I run the backhoe, some days I run the dump/If I had other plans on my graduation day/Then several years ago, I guess I hauled 'em all away/She told me she was pregnant on the day I turned 18/And I did what you're supposed to do, I bought her a ring." Knight's music is the perfect blend of Americana and country-rock; it's clean at times, but it's far too soulful to be considered only contemporary country. His sound and style change little from album to album, but there's no need for change. | | Tight Rope $5.58 Brooks & Dunn have always seemed more tradtionalist than they actually were. Even with their first album, they had a clear commercial mind behind their rootsiest material, and it's undeniable that they were not only one of the driving forces behind the line-dance craze, but that they had some of the better mainstream country ballads of the decade. Their trick was not just strong vocals, but keeping the music lean and direct, so it sounded like straight-up country even when it had pop aspirations. They retained that illusion up until the end of the '90s, when they not only increased their pop quotient, but they started to feel like a collective instead of a duo. That's a roundabout way of saying that 1999's Tight Rope, while a solid album, isn't quite up to their old standards. For instance, such blatant radio crossover moves as covering John Waite's new wave-era classic "Missing You" feels wrong, even if it's done as well as it possibly could be. That's obviously a misstep, but the really strange thing about Tight Rope is how the alternation between a Brooks song and a Dunn song feels like two solo albums pieced together, which is something that's never happened before. That these pieces are musically in line with the duo's previous efforts only hammers home the fact that this record is competent, occasionally enjoyable, but not particularly inspired. Parts of the record work quite well, such as "Temptation #9" or the closer, "Texas and Norma Jean," but there are large stretches that either feel contrived or a little too generic. | | Give 'Em Enough Rope $16.78 For their second album, the Clash worked with the American hard rock producer Sandy Pearlman, best-known for his work with Blue Öyster Cult and the Dictators. The teaming was quite controversial within the punk community, and the sound of Give 'Em Enough Rope is considerably cleaner, yet the more direct sound hardly tamed the Clash. While the record doesn't burn with the same intense, amateurish energy of The Clash, it does have a big, forceful sound that is nearly as powerful. What keeps Give 'Em Enough Rope from being a classic is its slightly inconsistent material. Many of the songs are outright classics, particularly the first half of the record ("Safe European Home," "English Civil War," "Tommy Gun," "Julie's Been Working for the Drug Squad") and "Stay Free," but the group loses some momentum toward the end of the record.
