Climbing Harness
What climbing harness would fix someone with a 50 inch waist? Looking to do sport climbing.?
As a climbing instructor, I've encountered this before. Most XL harnesses tap out at 41 - 44" waists. The way to get around this is to go with a full body, fall protection harness. This will easily handle a 50" waist. DBI Sala makes harnesses with front attachment points at waist height (be careful as some mfg's make front rings at chest height). You may be able to get a rescuers harness to fit (maybe).

How do I attached a Via Ferrata Shock Absorber to a Harness?
I just purchased online a Singing Rock Balance II Climbing Harness and a Edelweiss Via Ferrata Shock Absorber. I'm new to climbing and I dont know how this two go together. Can anyone give me some detailed description on how to do this or maybe a link to a video to see how is done would be very helpful. Thank you very much.
I just wanted to add this is not for rock climbing but for for rope,chain or cable courses in case I fall.
You dont use that for rock climbing. You tie directly into the harness. The Shock absorber is used for ropes courses incase you fall. The webbing loop gerts girth hitched to your harness and the 2 arms get clipped to a steel cable or ladders for a ropes course. You dont use it for rock climbing, send it back.

Question on restraint systems and safety harnesses for tree stands?
Last year I fell out of my tree while I was climbing down and got hurt pretty bad. I have been using a harness and the "fall guy" restraint system ever since. But my problem is that i have more than 1 stand and those Fall Guy straps are $70 a pop. Anyone have a cheaper alternative so I am safe climbing in and out of the stand?
Use a lineman's style belt for climbing up and down from your tree stand. It has a rope that goes around the tree and hooks to the belt. They are adjustable to fit any size tree. Linemen trust their lives to them every day going up and down utility poles.
