PERIOD! HELP!!!!!!! PLEASE HELP?
Ok, I'm going on a school camp soon and I will be taking part in rock climbing, high up activities where I'll be wearing a tight harness too. I am worried about the water activites, their will be sailing and canoeing. The problem is I'm going on the camp "ON MY PERIOD" and I'm worried if I wear a tampon and get splashed etc. I might bleed. I WILL GET WET! I've heard your period stops in water but when you get out it flows so wat if your out of water and get splashed? I'm dreading the camp PLEASE HELP!
Your period doesn't stop in the water...and getting splashed won't instantly cause leaking. Your bleeding it determined by your uterus, which is inside your body and does not have water-seeking super-powers...as great as your uterus is it isn't magic, and so it can't tell whether you're in the water or not.
If worried then use a menstrual cup rather than tampons, they're safer and more convenient anyway so no risk of TSS thus you can wear any time, with any flow, including overnight, and for 12 hours. They hold a lot more flow than tampons and pads combined, they also have light suction so don't leak, they can also lessen flow and cramps. Menstrual cups are better for things like swimming too as nothing shows outside your body and they don't absorb water.
