Help with physics problem. PHYSICally-challenged i am....?
A crate is placed on an inclined board as shown in the figure below. One end of the board is hinged so that the angle θ is adjustable. If the coefficient of static friction between the crate and the board is μS = 0.33, what is the value of θ at which the crate just begins to slip?
The weight of the crate can be resolved into a normal force (N), and a parallel force F:
F = m*g*Sin(θ)
N = m*g*Cos(θ)
The friction force, Ff is μN
Ff = μ*m*g*Cos(θ)
The crate is just about to slide when F = Ff
μ*m*g*Cos(θ) = m*g*Sin(θ)
the m*g cancels out:
μ*Cos(θ) = Sin(θ)
μ = Sin(θ)/Cos(θ) = Tan(θ)
θ = Atan(μ) = 18.26 degrees
assuming of course that θ is the angle between the board and the horizontal.

adjust top opener of upvc windows?
I have a top opening window where the top half does not shut against the seal but the bottom does around 7.5 mm difference in gap. Are the hinges / is the alignment adjustable and how???
sounds like the male part of the hinge is not engaging into the female part (the very top of the hinge)
try a silicone lubricant or replace the hinges with new.
